Pune: Å KODA AUTO DigiLab India today announced the launch of i-mobilothon, an event in collaboration with Volkswagen IT Services. i-mobilothon provides an inclusive, agile and multidisciplinary collaborative environment for creative minds and passionate code developers to leverage their skills in creating prototypes that have a real impact on the business at scale. The competition is open to start-up teams, as well as university students from across India who have a knack for innovation and disruptive technologies. The event will also be open to employees of Volkswagen group companies in India.

Commenting on the event, Mr. Gurpratap Boparai, Managing Director of ŠKODA AUTO Volkswagen India, said: “ŠKODA AUTO DigiLab is responsible for growing our core mobility business through innovative digital solutions. I firmly believe that a good environment is a key influence that enables innovative young minds to come together and be the torchbearers of progress. With this platform, we are eager to implement a range of solutions around mobility and IT.

The 14 week hackathon will take place online in two stages 1. registration and submission and 2. development of the solution (prototype). Participants will have the opportunity to choose between scenarios that echo future automotive connectivity, customer experience, business digitization, pre-sales and after-sales challenges driven by artificial intelligence, augmented reality and data analysis. The deadline for submitting applications is July 30, 2021. The hackathon will end in the last week of September 2021 after two levels of evaluation and the final demonstration of the prototype.
